Check out this new opportunity fresh from the Home Office! The Senior Analyst – General Ledger position will be a key contributor to the integrity and efficiency of our financial operations. The primary responsibilities include the accurate and timely administration of the general ledger and ensuring all financial transactions are appropriately recorded and reconciled. This individual will be instrumental in driving the month-end close process, optimizing workflows, and mining procedural efficiencies to meet internal and external reporting deadlines. A key aspect of this role is maintaining the integrity of financial data, which includes performing detailed analysis, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is tasked with developing period-end procedures and leveraging best practices to streamline the close process. Further, playing a crucial role in enhancing the existing General Ledger control environment by identifying and mitigating potential risks. Contributions will extend to delivering monthly financial reporting and proficiency with modern reporting tools will be essential, directly impacting our financial transparency and strategic decision-making.

 

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance is required;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in General Ledger Accounting;
  • Experience in publicly traded company preferred;
  • Thorough knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles, auditing standards, consolidations accounting, financial reporting, internal control environments, and strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments;
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving annual objectives.

 

What you will do

  • Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly;
  • Aid in the design, implementation, standardization, and enforcement of robust controls across the General Ledger function, including review and approval workflows to maintain data integrity and prevent errors;
  • Drive the efficient and accurate month-end close process, ensuring all necessary entries are posted, reconciliations are completed, and deadlines are met. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency;
  • Utilize report writing tools to extract, analyze, and present financial data effectively. Anticipate, develop, and maintain ad hoc reports as needed to support business requirements;
  • Ensure all general ledger activities and reporting comply with relevant company policies, regulatory requirements, and external audit standards;
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline general ledger processes, improve data quality, and enhance the efficiency of financial operations;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
