The Data Center Specialist is responsible for ensuring the security, efficiency, and reliability of the organization’s technology infrastructure, data management, and telecommunications systems.
This position is essential for maintaining daily data center operations, enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening security measures, and optimizing system workflows through automation and proactive monitoring. The incumbent will work closely with the IT Operations Manager and other team members to oversee ERP job processing, manage inventory, secure sensitive data, drive automation efforts, and support our technology stack. This role is best suited for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills.
Mid shift hours: Monday – Friday – 10:30am – 6:30pm
What we are looking for
- Associate’s Degree in an IT related or similar field preferred;
- At minimum of 3 years in IT operations, network administration, or similar role preferred;
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification preferred;
- CompTIA A+ Certification preferred; CompTIA Security+ Certification preferred;
- Understanding of Windows operating systems, and precision in configuration, administration, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and security;
- Knowledge of backup procedures, including configuring, executing, monitoring, and testing data backups to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness;
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Power Automate, etc) for task automation and process optimization;
- Understanding of IT inventory control, asset lifecycle tracking, and equipment charge-out processes;
- Knowledge of telecommunications hardware, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of phone hardware and related equipment;
- Provide initial response and first-level support for security issues, identifying potential threats and escalating incidents as needed for further investigation and resolution;
- Ability to understand and analyze various system workflows to identify basic issues, troubleshoot effectively, and escalate problems as needed;
- Familiarity with ERP systems, workflows, and job scheduling processes, including diagnosing issues, optimizing system performance, and coordinating support with third-party vendors for troubleshooting and resolution;
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues efficiently;
- Strong ability to create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides;
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing priorities effectively;
- Proficiency in using monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and respond to incidents;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work full-time hours in office.
What you will do
- Monitor and manage ERP processes, non-integrated partner connections, and data integrity to ensure efficient workflow execution, alignment with operational schedules, and optimal system performance;
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, mitigating delays or errors to maintain business continuity and minimizing disruptions to critical operations;
- Utilize system monitoring tools to proactively identify and address issues, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability. Support incident response activities by promptly investigating and diagnosing issues, coordinating with relevant teams for resolution, documenting resolutions thoroughly, and conducting post-incident analysis to identify root causes;
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and enhance incident response protocols. Collaborate with team members to refine processes, strengthen system resilience, and minimize service disruptions through continuous improvement efforts;
- Track and manage IT assets by receiving inventory into the ERP system, conducting physical counts, and verifying stock levels to ensure accuracy;
- Maintain detailed lifecycle records for hardware and software, oversee charge-out assignments, and manage budget track documentation to support effective budget planning and asset management;
- Handle telecommunications-related items, including phone hardware setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring consistent functionality and support for all telecommunication needs within the organization;
- Manage and secure sensitive data, including PHI and SSNs, in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies, while executing and monitoring network-wide data backups to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and conducting regular tests to confirm backup reliability and incident readiness;
- Support automation initiatives by collaborating with the Automation and Operations Manager to build and deploy automated workflows, using scripting tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to streamline tasks, enhance operational efficiency, and identify new automation opportunities to keep the team agile and responsive to evolving IT needs;
- Maintain and oversee network and system environments (Windows, Linux, macOS) to ensure reliable performance across platforms, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and enhance user experience, and ensure security compliance by staying current with protocols, managing updates, patches, and enforcing access controls.
Starting pay rate: $26.12 per hour
