White Castle Naturally Focused logo

naturally focused

At White Castle, we believe caring for our communities includes caring for the world around us. While we’ve spent over a century satisfying the Cravings of our customers, we’re equally committed to protecting the environment for future generations of Cravers. Through thoughtful policies, responsible business practices, and our Naturally Focused initiative, we’re working to reduce our environmental footprint and help create a more sustainable future.

We’re proud to serve high-quality food to our customers, and we believe quality starts long before our Sliders reach our Cravers. That’s why we work with suppliers who share our commitment to excellence and continuously strive to advance industry best practices in animal care and welfare, resource conservation, and environmental responsibility. Across the business, we’re reducing waste through recycling and composting programs, repurposing used cooking oil and bakery byproducts, using packaging made from 100% recycled materials, and operating a LEED Gold-certified Home Office.

Supplier Code of Conduct

We require our suppliers to provide policies and commitments related to ethics in the workplace, worker health, safety and training, human rights, labor standards, and environmental protection. We expect suppliers to meet these requirements and promote best practices and continuous improvement.

State and National Standards

All our suppliers must adhere to local, state, and national regulatory standards. Specifically, for our animal proteins these standards include the regulations, requirements, and inspections under the USDA’s Federal Meat Inspection Act.

Industry Standards

We expect our protein suppliers to meet or exceed industry standards and best practices. These national standards include the North American Meat Institute, Beef Quality Assurance, United Egg Producers, Pork Quality Assurance Plus, National Chicken Council, National Dairy FARM Program, and the Marine Stewardship Council.

White Castle teams help build strong, thriving communities by feeding the hungry and bringing hope through our Castle Shares program. We embrace a broad philanthropic focus and empower our team members to support a wide range of organizations in their local neighborhoods that can use a boost – whether it’s through our time, our finances, or our Craveable Sliders.

round up program

Seemingly little things can often make a big difference. With our Round Up Program, we invite our customers to round up their check to the nearest dollar, with the additional money going to local charities selected by the District Supervisor in two-year cycles. Through April 2026, we’ve raised more than $6,000,000 through the Round Up Program. Every cent adds up to stronger communities and transformed lives.

100 hours volunteer challenge

We’re committed to empowering community engagement and support. Through our 100 Hours Volunteer Challenge, we provide opportunities for team members to give back by volunteering their time in support of meaningful community-focused initiatives. The challenge is designed to encourage service, strengthen our connection to the communities we serve, and celebrate the positive impact our team members make through volunteerism.

diversity & inclusion

Our Sliders have been known for their one-of-a-kind taste for over 100 years, and our nearly 9,000 team members are just as unique. It’s the different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and talents they bring to the table that make us stronger and create a workplace where everyone belongs.
